2016-10-31 12:44:21 +0000 UTCTotenkopf is German for "skull and crossbones", so it's "skull and crossbones birthday", if translating it properly. Translating compound words by pieces is almost certainly going to give (often hilariously) wrong results, as the compound word meaning may have drifted from its base words. It only gets worse when the compound word is compounded further (as is common in for example German), like it is here. Part of my job is implementing translation in user interfaces for industrial equipment, so it's an issue I have dealt with a lot.
