Patreon Monthly Update: February 2016

So, uh, I didn't do one of these for January! Whoops! I didn't realize this until about halfway through the month, so I decided it was just best to ride it out. I think with me posting that podcast here so early in January sort of made my brain go "No, yeah, I've done that thing on Patreon."

So, last month I had the Game of the Year Podcast. I don't know what was up with Patreon, it used to let you embed those kinds of files so you could play them in a webplayer sort of thing, but that didn't work, so it HAD to be posted as a download.

I also feel like that podcast was kind of a trainwreck. I had a script to work off of, but I chose to just "go with the flow" and I had more than one person tell me I went too long and ended up rambling.  But that's good! People telling me what I'm doing wrong just means I know how to do my job better the next time.  I can write and read from a script like nobody's business, but I want to get better at speaking naturally off the top of my head, because I know that's a big blind spot for me right now. (Some of you out there have invited me for guest appearances on podcasts, and that's one of the reasons I've been hesitant)

Something I'm actually toying with are making these Patreon Monthly Updates in to podcasts.  Does that sound like a bad idea? Do any of you really care one way or the other?

I still haven't built the new computer yet. The basement remains unfinished. I'm gonna push that we get it done soon, though. I'm currently saving up money for an Elgato HD60 Pro, which I should be able to buy in March. Fingers crossed!

In the mean time, I've been hard at work on a new video. If anybody remembers, there was a time where I was planning a response to that "Dear Sega" Sonic reboot proposal video. I'd wanted to do that in 2016 anyway, but I'd wanted to wait to do it on the new PC. Since it might be a while before I can get around to building that, I went ahead and started production on it. I'd actually hoped to get it out by February 2nd, Sega's so-called "Hedgehog Day," but... well... I'm nothing if not bad at estimating release dates.

Which is why I'm going to be more generous with this estimate: expect it sometime in the next two weeks. After that, who knows? I had a book I wanted to write about Sonic 06, and an adventure game I started working on...
