Early Askcess: Tech, Fan Comics, and Characterization

When Pontac and Graff were around, it was easier to say "this ain't Sonic" because it was so different from what came before; now people are applying the same to Flynn (due to the morality discussion) and Prime (because Man of Action's Sonic being childhish). And I don't even know how to react to this, because the three Sonics in Japan (Ohshima, Maekawa, Nishiyama) weren't the same either if you pay close attention to how they behave.
