He barely knew nagisa before they dated. Maki and nagisa were also close. So I understand how that can be frustrating. Your best friend dating your childhood crush has to be particularly difficult since you either have to abandon 2 life long friends or just slowly learn how to deal with it. Which she does. But from his perspective, he's just hanging out with his childhood friend.
