I spent months coming up with theories about Belos endgame was, and even though it’s obvious now in hindsight (what with Philip being around since the puritan era) it never occurred to me that he was a witch hunter whose ultimate goal was to commit mass genocide. Speaking of Hunter, his breakdown over both realising that everything he believed was a lie, and that he and the other Golden Guards are basically clones, was perfect.
