Fiction creating reality! Reality feeding back into fiction! I haven't quite dented the 4th wall enough yet to answer that for certain. We'll see! Heather is very biased by her tastes here, she's probably a little too into what Sevens is presenting. Which might be Sevens' intention. There is a real her beneath the mask, Heather's seen it, after all! But it is an abyssal thing, of another place, another set of definitions that she cannot see with her normal eyes.

2021-10-14 16:25:27 +0000 UTCI don't know if we're ever going to get it confirmed in story, but I'm still interested in my wacky theory that "The King In Yellow" came before the King in Yellow, as it were. Also poor Sevens, poor Heather. Though I'm not sure I agree with Heather that 'bewitching aristocrat princess' seems like Sevens' vibe, I can definitely agree with the principle, the implicit gesture that there is indeed a Sevens beneath the masks, beyond the acting. After all, if we take the acting metaphor to its logical conclusions, Sean Connery is not Roger Moore is not George Lazenby is not Timothy Dalton is not Pierce Brosnan is not Daniel Craig, even though they've all played James Bond. (To be fair, it is my understanding that at least one of those people just can't act to save his life, but still!)

It's kind of amazing that Katalepsis has ended up this long, I never thought it would get here, and I'm still going! 1 million words indeed, though I'm not celebrating until the end of book 1, that's going to be the real milestone, when current plotlines get resolved and Heather either succeeds or not ...
