An epub version of the chapter is also attached, as always!
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh! Chapter ... 35?! Are we almost there?! Well, kinda! The one thing I can say for certain is that the next chapter is not the final one of the arc. Right now, looking at my notes and outlines, it says that chapter 37 is the final chapter of arc 24. Probably. Our poor Heather is dealing with so much emotional turmoil, so many facets and aspects of who she is and what she needs, here at the gateway to her sister's rescue, that it turns out this section of the story is considerably longer and more complex than I had planned for. But!!! I think it is going well, I hope. We're nearing the end now. The end, the descent, and a splashdown!
Because, of course, the end of arc 24 is not the end of Book One. Even once this is over, we've got a little epilogue in store. (I think I've mentioned that before, once or twice or three times.) So! There might be a sneaky little extra thing lurking about too, we'll have to see.
I hope you all enjoy this one, dear readers. I'm glad you're here with me, on this wild ride into the center of Heather's dreams, for you are the best audience any writer could ask for. Thank you for reading! Thank you for being here with Katalepsis! Here we go, once more, down into the dreams at the heart of Wonderland ...

She can layer puns within puns! This power is too dangerous to go unopposed. One visit to Earth and she'll have the whole world enpunnified.

2024-11-10 20:38:51 +0000 UTCI didn't even realize the May see -> Mai-sie part of the pun. I only noticed the see part and thought it was funny because it is the Eye asking to 'see' somebody. Quite the pun. Truly, Eileen is simply too powerful and needs to be stopped.

2024-11-09 17:15:27 +0000 UTCThank you! The rising tension here has had me narratively squirming for so long, I'm glad it worked! Really glad you enjoyed the chapter! The big monster is a rather obvious problem, buuuut giving Lonely Heather a hug and some comfort might go much further than a kaiju fight. She really does look like she needs some help ... And you're very welcome for the chapter, too! Really excited for the finale!

2024-11-09 17:15:04 +0000 UTCI'm really delighted you enjoyed this chapter, thank you so much! So much has been building up to these final developments and movements of Heather's long, long arc, it's great to finally be here! To answer your question - yes, actually! Once arc 24 is over and the epilogue is wrapped up, one of the first things I was thinking of doing during the break between Books One and Two is some kind of Q&A, probably via an open post on Patreon. You're correct that I'm pretty active on the discord, and I often answer questions anyway, but I figure it would be nice to do something more 'official', and available to readers who prefer not to use discord. So, yeah, something like that!

2024-11-09 05:58:59 +0000 UTCAll that build up was worth it. That is definitely a big monster she has to deal with... Now, I demand that Lonely Heather be given a hug! She clearly needs it. Also, a warm blanky and a mug of hot cocoa. Poor girl must be freezing!

2024-11-09 05:57:45 +0000 UTCSo exciting!!! I've been a reader since arc 8 or 9, I can't believe it's all happening! Out of random curiosity: were you thinking about doing some kind of Q & A once the arc (and/or epilogue) is finished? (Although ig you're so active in the discord I feel like it's kinda always q&a time lol π)
