One Step Above Gigantic (Hi Res)

A piece for Terantic of Twitter! Gigantic didn't cut it. Gerard had to go one higher.

After the duo piece I did for Cad of a normal sized Cad and then a  hulking one, Terantic asked if I could do the same with Gerard. I was  more than happy to help out with that. Figured I'd have some fun with it  as well, given his clever Twitter bio line, and added more cracked  ground and energy all around, really push that larger-than-life feeling.

This one came together really quickly. I am rather pleased. These are  always really relaxing to work with, as anatomy always is for me.  Shout-outs to Ripped-Saurian for helping me with the torso and lats  early on -- it really helped sell the size further! I think to improve  further, I really need to sit down and work on my sketch phase before  block-in, work on my outlines and shapes more.

WHOOF. BIG MAN.

Anyways uh, yeah, remember in the last one when I said I think it showed that I had a big time gap between the start and the end of the piece? I think this is the example of what happens when I can just sit and focus on something for three or four days. I feel like this one is so, so much stronger, and I still feel a bit bad about that, but I have to just try my best on each one, and let them land where they land.

I definitely felt some weaknesses early on. Like I said above, I gotta work more on my sketching and proportions. I definitely need to go back and find some time to do gestures and practice with just line. I think my weaknesses are stemming mostly from how I'm starting my images, where I'm still leaving things a bit more "cartoony" than I want, or leaving certain details blank to be dealt with later. I gotta get out of that habit.

Other than that, I mean, this one speaks for itself. I was in a much better spot when I was doing it, and I think it shows. Even being able to stream the work on it, as well as a sketch stream and stuff the other day, shows that further. I do want to do more streams, including Sundays being sketch days again. I need to get back to that normalcy, think I let myself slip too far on that end. I have a lot of work to do still, though, so I better get to it...!

Sorry this description is a little short. I know they haven't been as indepth lately. I have been in a less wordy mood and instead been in a very rare "I want to be painting" mood, so I should probably keep pushing that while I can! I have a magical nature dragon coming up next, though he's still in the thumbnailing/sketch phase, so it'll be a little bit to the next one. I will see you guys then, though. Love you all.
