"A strange quality has been discovered with regards to Corruption. As you will be able to see--"
Painting for Sombreve's game, Dawn of Corruption! There's two other versions of this painting that you can see in game. This is just the base canvas. :) I'm proud of this one, so I figured I'd upload just the teaser, the presentation without any distractions~
One challenge I'm still facing with backgrounds is sense of scale. It's a detail I always gloss over, so these pieces for Som have been a bit of a challenge! But this one, while having a lot of that going on, was very relaxing. Just a lot of work...!
Thank you again to Som for trusting me with these projects. Already have another one being plotted and brainstormed, so more Corruption to come down the line...! Enjoy, ya'll. A few other paintings being picked at, and working on updating a commission sheet for those who have been asking.

Almost forgot to upload this one earlier this month!
You guys get to see the other versions in the game since you've been so kind in being in this tier, and you get to see them at hi-res. In the game, the flask has a version without the crystal, where Corruption has been poured in. It's meant to show its consistency, and how it seems into and coats what it touches. The other version is once a crystal of a... certain make is added to the flask, how Corruption tends to be pushed away from it. Curious, that. As for what the crystal itself is made up of... Well, I can't spoil -everything- here. Some things I do want to leave for discovery. c:
This one was a lot of work. Some of the previous background pieces for DoC have had me wondering if I'm doing a good job on them, but this one felt like it clicked the most for me. Having recovered from losing all my customizations and having to rebuild some brushes, rediscover which ones I was using (since Painter's organization isn't the best), and re-build my workflow... I think I made a good jump forward here. Things feel cleaner, more cohesive. This also involved me trying to spend more time in cleaning the sketch and lines before blocking things in, so I could more easily read the piece throughout the process. I think that helped a -lot-, to be honest.
I'm still struggling with some of my saturations and how cleanly things will blend, of course. I haven't quite solved that problem... It's something I'm still finding myself envious of in others' work. But I've been much happier with it recently than I have been in the past, which is a plus.
Anyways, more DoC work coming down the pipeline! Next one's a bit of a canyon. I have a few other paintings I want to finish first, and like mentioned above, I do need to update a commission sheet, which I will share here when it's done. I'm getting help from a client who was actually in a piece I'll be uploading here shortly. He does graphic design work, and offered to help me with making my sheet look nicer after I got done helping him with a ref sheet, so that should be exciting! Might have something a bit more professional looking, rather than kind of... flat and plain, aha. Graphic design is not my passion.
Enough rambling for this one. I got another I gotta upload this afternoon anyways. Possibly two of them, actually. Enjoy, ya'll. Thank you so much for the continued support. <3 Stay safe out there.
