How to Make a Mass Monster (Hi-Res)

A piece for Thassb of FA ! This summer, it'll scare the *swell* into you.

A movie poster parody of "How To Make a Monster" for Thass! The original  is a spooky face with a fainting woman in front of it. Thass had the  awesome idea of a black wolf muscle man in front of his deer character  growing more beefy. c: I couldn't resist. He knows my weaknesses. Now, how do I also find this wolf man...

Thank you, Thass, for trusting me with your fantastic idea, and  for trusting me with it! Enjoy, ya'll.

Tom / Thass / Hassburg approached me with this idea a while back and I only wish I had been able to get to it around Halloween since it's so good! I was absolutely on board the moment he described it and showed the quick composite idea he had made in an image editor. So, I took it and absolutely ran with it. Even managed to enjoy the process of lettering in a painting setting, to boot. Just all around a really fun piece.

Though it did also reveal some problems with Corel Painter... Hit an issue on this one where I lost all my progress with my lettering and editing near the end and had to redo it due to a memory overflow problem that Corel has. While I love to pieces how Corel handles blending and paint in general, this undo-ing and corrupting of layers, steps, etc. when the memory overflows is starting to test my patience (especially with a sketch piece I lost the _entire_ process on, right as I was finishing it up).

I kind of get it, though. It's not the biggest company or program in terms of popularity. So it doesn't have the most resources put into it sometimes -- you can tell that by how some years are more focused on optimization rather than feature creep or improvement. But knowing it still doesn't handle more than 4 cores well, nor more than 8 gigs of RAM, nor anything higher than 1080p (I work on a 2K screen), and even something as simple as a Free Transform can chug the program so hard it risks crashing... Thiiiiink it might be time to move on. Especially with Rebelle 7 just coming out, and Clip Studio Paint just, you know, being a thing.

My next upload here will be a lot of sketch and speedpaint work I've been doing lately. I should have that done within the day, and then can post it perhaps this weekend?

Otherwise, things have been rough in the real life realm. Just trying to keep my head down and work, trying to put in more hours, since job prospects have become shaky again for Goolashe and holiday bills are, you know, a thing. So again, the support here, of any amount, has been truly, incredibly helpful. Thank you all so much. It helps so much more than you know. Love you all. Stay warm out there, or cool if you're in the middle of summer right now. And in case I forget to say it in the sketch upload, happy holidays. <3 I'll catch you again soon.
