Intro

Welcome back again, for our bi-monthly newsletter. The second amidst this once-in-a-generation global pandemic. We hope you are all well and adjusting okay to the change in life still taking hold, whatever that may look like for you.

General updates

We’ve made a few improvements and achievements across the family of sites recently which we want to shout about. 

Firstly, we’re proud to note we now have over 330 Patreon supporters! A big thank you to everyone using all of our sites. 

Secondly, we have made some upgrades and developments to the backend of the sites, some you probably won’t notice specifically, some you may, both you will benefit from even without realising! So, you’re welcome 😉

TheCocktailDB

New videos for 25 cocktails 

As it’s summer where we’re based, we’ve continued adding more cocktails with a summer twist. Plus, it’s great to have a valid excuse to make the most of the time at home...if you catch my drift ;) 

And as a by-product of that, we’ve added 30 new cocktail images with Creative Comms Licensing to the existing library. These can be accessed via the database field “strCreativeCommonsConfirmed”, available on the API.

TheSportsDB

Undoubtedly some of the best news in a while was some sport starting up again! Hurray! But while we were waiting for that to happen, we made quite a few developments seeing as we had a lot of extra time on our hands!

A big shout out to those who have helped with these, especially Smudgie, Curswine, yerghee, ovokx and all the others this month. Hundreds of edits are being contributed each day to keep the site up-to-date.

We’ve upgraded and unified our forum and login system so it is now integrated and matches the site’s design. This allows us to use new technologies across the site and provides a more streamlined and consistent user experience for you.

- Added the ability to record player statistics, such as goals scored, basketball blocks and minutes played. We’ve just released this feature so please drop by our new forums and suggest new statistic types.

- Player data and artwork completed for: Boxing, Bellator MMA, English 20/20 cricket teams, Australian Big Bash cricket league, Australian NRL teams, and Indian IPL cricket teams.

- New results and YouTube video highlights for: Motorsports, Golf, Wrestling and many other sports.

- New event schedules after sports suspension have been added

- Additional worldwide golf tours and challenger events have been added

TheMealDB

You will recall we added Youtube video links for all uploaded recipes a while ago recently, and we’ve now completed the task of ensuring there is a link for every recipe we have on the site currently. 

We’ve also added over 50 new ingredients, along with corresponding high resolution images, so we can continue adding a variety of recipes! 

There has been a push for Polish recipes, so we’ve added 8 new ones to the site, but if you have any more you love, do let us know! Each month we try to add a new country and their local delicacies.

TheAudioDB

Just a reminder that we include the latest charts, new album artwork, trending songs and albums, every week.

One of the updates in the background mentioned earlier includes having a new dedicated server specifically for TheAudioDB, which will take place over the next few weeks. This will allow for a large increase in speed and to provide more capacity for our major API users.

Following in the footsteps of the TheSportsDB, we will be implementing a new forum and login system to TheAudioDB soon too, we’ll keep you posted on this.
