Book 1 Completion, Book 2 Plans, Vacation

Well, this now marks the completion of posting Book 1 of Neophyte World Builder, a series that will have at least three books.

For those of you in the free tier, this doesn’t mean anything until you get to December 11, because that’s when the finale is publicly available.

For those in the paid tier, tomorrow marks the first day of releasing Book 2 chapters. You’ll get 10 of these before December 11th hits.

Starting December 12th, I’ll go on a brief vacation. This time will be used to edit the earlier chapters for continuity and clarity. Neither paid nor free patrons will get updates during this time.

Updates resume for both on December 19th, a Friday. This will be Chapter 1 of Book 2 for free patrons, and Chapter 11 for paid. However, going forward this will be a M-W-F posting schedule.

Maybe I’ll increase the readahead for paid, maybe I’ll launch a second serial. We’ll see how much time I have, though the tail end of December is usually quite busy for me.

The point is, we have a LOT more story to tell, and each book has an overall focus. Book 1 was a lot of isolation and fumbling in the dark and crawling forward despite that.

Book 2 will have more immortal characters, and focus more on the admin’s responsibilities and the world’s development into a proper civilization, and shorter vignettes on how mortals perceive this rather than long-term mortal-centric arcs. I’m sure people have questions about other things that happened, and those can be addressed as well!
