PICTURE PREVIEW: Poster (+ House Layout)

HAPPY HUNDREDTH PAINTREON PICTURE POST!!

Still doing the animatic! I've actually taken a break from it for the past few days. School has started again. I haven't actually done a semester since spring of last year, I took the fall off to work on part one! HA!! Yeah

This shot right here I wanted to post, because it was one that I just had so vivid in my mind back when I wrote this scene. That's why boarding is so FUN!! I get to plan out how to unlock this visual from my mind without needing to worry about every individual frame or cleaning it up or coloring it. It's all about getting the idea across.

Obviously, here, I've modified the boards a bit. Sorry, there won't be an E3 Toad reference. No, no. I'm just covering up spoilers. I want to give you the least to work with as far as figuring out what's happening goes. I wonder how well you could figure out the story with what I show here!

Just in case this update isn't too terribly interesting, I have something that is hopefully just as slightly interesting to pair with it just to give you a little bit more to chew on!

Here is a layout of the house that I gave to the background artist! Wow! So yeah I guess you can make the house in real life now if you wanted to.

In this particular story, I imagined all the core Sonic characters living in a town together, with a downtown city and some suburbs. It isn't really consistent within the games where all the characters live, I don't think, so it was fun to sort of make that part up. I think there was one game (Sonic Battle) that had some sort of suburb with character houses.

For this house in particular, I sort of had the idea that it's a place Sonic and Tails share together, but since Sonic is running around the world all the time, he only really crashes there occasionally. It always seems like he's kind of homeless in the games, like if he's ever sleeping it's usually under a random tree on some grass. I think Tails is much more of a homeowner type, though, I mean he always has that workshop of his so it makes more sense for him to be anchored down to a specific place.

Speaking of that town they live in:

Here's the little doodle I did of it on the PT1 animatic. Not sure if you could tell, but it's meant to be the city from Sonic Forces! I wanted to include a variety of locales from Sonic's history, so you have that sort of Sonic Unleashed/Adventure-esque temple at the beginning, then the Forces city, the burger place from Sonic Boom, and even Spring Yard Zone from the first game! It's like an all-encompassing everything bagel of a Sonic world.
