PICTURE: Boards + Fun character drawings I really like
Added 2023-12-19 01:11:05 +0000 UTCThe boarding continues! It's wrapping up now. Really, I'm supposed to have these done by the end of this week. So wish me luck! There isn't much left to cover.
Along with the usual storyboards, there's the "fun character drawings I really like" in the last two images. The first of which is just a random, super-aggressive drawing of the Talking Flower. That's not for anything in the video, I just did it for fun to test out how expressive I wanted to go.
Also in that image, there's a Poplin Cop. It's a Poplin, from Mario Wonder, but drawn as a police officer. That design came out really elegantly to be honest, I based it on old-timey UK police that appear in cartoons. The design of the Poplins' flower bud heads just fit really natural with those kinds of police helmets.
The very last image is just some colored model sheets we've started putting together. What do you think of those colors? I think the designs and colors are honestly perfect but my colorist King is less certain. Ahhh come ahnnn I sayy. They look great!! YOU agree with me, right??? Anyways, aside from the colors, I just love those Daisy and Yoshi drawings so much. They're so cute. Really happy with the style I worked out on them.
Some additional news: Tomorrow I'm supposed to hear the voice acting for the first time! I'm always excited but anxious when it gets to this point. The voicework always brings everything I've written to life in a really fun way, but there's also always a few things that didn't turn out how I expected. That's not necessarily a bad thing, just usually something new I have to work with. Apparently they've hired someone new to play the Talking Flower character in this, from what I was told. I wonder if they'll become a future Mario voice actor in official works, too. LOL! #AfghaniNation
