TEXT: YOUR SECOND POST OF THE WEEK
Added 2024-02-18 07:38:16 +0000 UTCI'm supposed to be posting twice a week. So I'm obligated to share the OTHER thing I'm working on!
This time, it's another project with the Ready to Start Show crew! If you're unfamiliar, this is the group of friends that I run a podcast with, the Start Cast. We want to regularly put out fun little cartoons starring our personalities. So here's one of those!
This is an idea Ryan had actually. She wrote up a pretty basic outline of the story she wanted to tell here, and I was so enthusiastic about it that I decided to handle the writing process because I really love writing cartoon episodes. CHECK OUT THIS OUTLINE PREVIEW:
THEATER SCENE
- Doorbell rings at the Norville Theater.
- Employee is at the concessions. Jane springs up to get the door
- She is greeted by Alvin, Simon, and Theodore. They tell her they’re looking for the Start Casters.
- She yells for them and they slide into frame.
- The Toads jump on Seap, shouting “Unca Seap! Unca Seap!”
- Some kind of joke where Ryan is like “They’re your nephews?” and Seap is like “Pretty much?”
- Toads explain that they have to save E3.
- Ryan says “You mean Summer Game Fest?” and Alvin angrily lunges at her. Simon holds him back, and explains that Geoff Keighley is the single biggest threat to the gaming news industry, and that the reason they’re visiting is to recruit the Casters to help them infiltrate Keighley Manor.
- Could have a speech of Simon explaining their insane Keighley Lore about how he’s an evil sorcerer who is keeping E3 hostage to siphon its purity and take over the world, accompanied with epic silhouette illustrations or something
- Ryan refuses, saying she doesn’t have time to do all that, which makes the Toads start to whimper and cry. Seap’s like “Come on, you’re making them sad, they’re my nephews.”
- T. Owner comes out of nowhere to say he can’t bear to see the three boys like this, and makes it a company order to drive the Otis Van to Keighley Manor and save E3.
Would you look at that. It's the return of the Christmas Toads! I mean the E3 Toads! I mean the Munkshrooms! Alvin Simon Theodore!!! This is actually going to be a pretty massive story for them. Ryan had this idea a while back and I thought it made a lot of sense as something of a climax to their E3-related escapades. This will be CRUCIAL viewing, folks.
The current plan is to finish this in June, right at the Summertime Video Game News season. It's a few months away, but I wanted to make sure we started production as soon as possible. Next step, once the writing is fully touched up, is I'll probably handle a decent amount of the storyboarding.
