PICTURE: More Regular Sized Storyboards

I'm back reporting progress on the next Mashed video! Still drawing for the animatic!

Right now I've got about a minute done. A minute out of nine minutes. Woof!! But I haven't been able to work on it for like a week, there's my excuse. I'm aiming to have them all finished over the weekend. Well, that would be nice. I'm not sure it will happen. But it'd be nice.

This current point of the story has been really fun to board, honestly. Hopefully that comes through in the drawings. I think it's coming along great! I might share a snippet of the animatic with the voice acting this week.

Finally getting to draw Orbot and Cubot in this as well! You may or may not know that they're among my favorite Sonic characters. Really looking forward to showing everyone the little side story they have going on. And look, what's that Cubot's playing? Well, you should know, I wrote a little note spelling it out for whoever animates that scene.

In the fourth image you get a good look of the Death Ray Eggman's using. I've been sort of figuring out the design as I storyboard, so hopefully by the time we get to animation I'll be able to assemble acute details on how it works. Designing machinery is so tough, it has to look good but also kind of have an apparent method for how it moves around and stuff. It's a real hassle.

This one in particular, you may notice, is a more mobilized take on the Death Ray in Sonic Babies. The implication is that it's Eggman's innovation on that same design.

While I was drawing it in the storyboard you see here, however, I was hit with a stroke of genius that the new mobilized version I'd been designing kind of sort of looks like a microscope! Like if you squint and tilt your head and stuff? Yeah? So I added what looks like the "scope" that you stick your eye in. The black tube thing coming out of the top of it. Here, I'm imagining it's some kind of extended exhaust vent or something.

Anyway, that's all I've got to report for now. Going to be working on this a LOT this week. I'm kind of juggling multiple projects at a time, as well as doing college still, so it's a full time life I'm living right now! HELP ME!!!!!
