These thumbnails I made for King, who usually helps out on these videos, since they've elected to help with storyboarding. On the thumbnails I just give a pretty stripped-down look at all the shots I have in mind, just to offer them some guidance on how scenes should be structured.

The second image is from a sequence that required some pretty extensive direction, so I've drawn a ton of panels here. There are all kinds of bug creatures that appear, and our heroes must deal with them in quick succession.

For the insects, they're all based on specific enemies from the Sonic games! These were pretty fun to design. I wanted to make sure they all had attributes that read more as "living insect" than "robot resembling insect," which mostly entailed getting rid of mechanical features like exhausts and wheels and screws. One of my favorite details I come up with was for the ladybug and caterpillar, where I gave them patterns on their heads that resemble the cartoony google-eyes, while their actual insect eyes are small and beady.

Personally I'm looking forward to how the finished boards will come out! Hopefully soon, too. Haha. I WANNA GET THIS DONE!
