PICTURE: I Need Your Input! An Official Top Secret Behind Closed Doors Announcement

I have something insane that I want to reveal. But I'm revealing it to you, first, my Paintrons. And I'm gonna ask you for your input!!

You may not have noticed, but my Twitter bio recently had a new link added to it a couple months ago. I didn't call attention to it yet because things were in the early stages.

It was a new webpage announcing a partnership I was making with the company Gimmeswag. They make toys. If you've looked at the images, you know where I'm going with this.

Basically, they approached me with the proposal of designing merchandise based on my channel. My first once-in-a-lifetime instinct was telling me that I needed Munkshroom merchandise to get made. Call me insane. It just felt like the right call. They're such horribly iconic little things in their own way, and this was going to be a big year for them. It might have been my only chance. So I went for it.

I got an email this morning. It revealed to me the first fully created prototype of the Alvin plush. I was at a loss for words.

So, OK. Firstly. When the prospect of Munkshroom merchandise arrived to my head, I knew there was the danger of interfering with Nintendo's corporate empire. So it necessitated some adjustments to the Alvin design. Minor adjustments.

I can't find the exact graphic I made for them, but I basically just inverted the colors of the mushroom cap, changed the spot pattern, gave them a T-shirt, and a naked undercarriage.

One of the ideas I proposed was a dress-up mechanic, swapping from Christmas mode to Regular mode. Removable coat and hat. Yeah.

So, imagine what was going through my mind when I saw this:

It's been several hours since I opened the email, and I still don't know how to respond. This was assuredly not a part of the plan. Nowhere in any vocal discussion or visual document did I so much as imply the idea of having an entire removable mushroom cap. I didn't even propose what a capless Alvin would look like, not even to myself, and they just wordlessly show this to me?

OK. So. The problem is. This is kind of hilarious. This is not a feature of the Munkshrooms as we know them, but how on Earth can I deny how hilarious it would be to ship them out like this?

Like I said, I'm at a loss. What do you all think? Should the Alvin plush have a removable mushroom cap? Or should it just be a removable Christmas hat like I had initially planned? Which is better? We can't have both. Well, maybe we can. I haven't asked. But that sounds like a lot to deal with.
