If you're reading this, that means I'm basically almost pretty much completely finished with drawing the entire animatic for the upcoming Mashed cartoon. I'm talking both parts!
Well, there's like half a page left to draw. But I can do it really quickly.
If you didn't catch my last post, GO CATCH IT!!! I said when this video is coming out. Heads up, it's extremely soon! OK? It'll be in your lap before you know it. Well, the first part at least. We don't know when the second part is coming. I'm gonna be realistic and say a month from now.
Here we're looking at basically the culminations of the A and B plots. I won't give you context (SPOILERS) but you can maybe glean info from these? Heheh... Maybe.
I've included a layout for Eggman's fortress here. It was honestly really fun to design. Eggman doesn't typically have a single base of operations, so I had to take inspiration from a number of sources. Mainly his fortress in Sonic Boom, and his various bases in the IDW comics.

We also get to see Orbotnik and Cubotnik throw it down on the dance floor here! There's gonna be a whole "work party" set. I had a pretty clear image in my mind when writing this of how it would look, with the penguin waiters serving tins of oil. Actually, did you know those penguin badniks are called "Penguinators"? When I saw that I was like, who wrote that? Who called them that?
Actually, the penguin badnik as a waiter visual was something I originally thought of for the (currently) rejected Orbot and Cubot cartoon that I pitched to Mashed immediately after Clone Chaos. Hopefully that gets to happen in some form... it was really funny. No need to shed tears over what was lost, though, because now I get to have my very own Orbot and Cubot B-Plot WITH Penguinator Waiters. I'm so excited!
Oh yes, and the last image! That's a quick sketch I did for Orbotnik and Cubotnik wearing "Work Party" outfits. Orbotnik is keeping it "Cool Boss" business casual in a modest button-up with rolled up sleeves. Cubotnik is slightly less classy. His buttons are misaligned, his sleeves hang, and he's covered in the oil stains of a drunken machine.
That is the second unique outfit they wear in this cartoon, actually, with the other being them donning clothes from Eggman's wardrobe. I think my love for them is showing. They get all these neat clothes! My goodness. What can I say? They're funny characters to dress up, since they don't really have super humanoid bodies. So anything they wear is gonna look goofy.
