TEXT: My Guilty Monthly Cartoon Sneak Peak (One Page Of Script)

I'm still posting! I just finished writing an entire first-draft script. Here's a page of it!

This one is an upcoming Mashed video. That's right, they're BACK. This time it's an idea way different in tone than anything I've ever made. It's a psychological horror! Not many jokes in it at all.

Sonic and Tails set out on their adventure once again. They’re running along, when suddenly there’s a break in the path. Tails rises into the air, and Sonic locks hands with him so Tails can toss him across the ledge. As Sonic soars over the bed of spikes below, he looks down and sees a mess of his own corpses, impaled. He seizes up in midair, crash-landing onto the path ahead. He quickly scurries on the ground to look beyond the cliff to double-check what he just saw in the spike pit.

TAILS: Sonic!! You okay??

SONIC: Did you see that?? Down there!

Sonic looks back down at the spike pit. No corpses in sight.

TAILS: …The spikes?

SONIC: Uhh. Hum…

TAILS: Are you sure you’re all good to go?

SONIC (distracted): …Yeah. YEAH! Yeah! Let’s keep moving.

Sonic and Tails continue running. Suddenly, Eggman ambushes them, crashing down in their path inside his lobster mech from the start.

EGGMAN: [Evil cackle]!! Hello, Sonic! Glad to see you’ve made a speedy recovery. Back for another beating?!

SONIC: Grrr… Eggman!!! You’re SCRAMBLED!!!

Sonic points at Eggman, before revving up a spindash. He uses an angled stone to launch himself in the air at the machine. As he’s soaring heroically, fist wound up, the mech grabs his head with a pair of pincering legs, and pops it like a bloody grape. His decapitated body flumps to the ground.

Cut back to Sonic, pointing at Eggman, from a few seconds prior. His death was only a horrifying vision. He stands, speechless and shaken. His confident pose wavers into a limp slouch. As he looks around, he sees dead Sonics strewn around the battlefield.

SONIC: Uh. Umm.. Uh.. N..No… No, no no no. Uh, sorry, I—

Sonic runs away. Eggman and Tails are left stunned at this uncharacteristic display of cowardice. Cubot emerges from the mech’s cockpit.

CUBOT: What’s his problem?

Everyone involved with the making of this one is really excited about it so far. Including me! It might be a shock to some, seeing my usual style of animation used to deliver something so gruesome, but I'm hoping to apply my usual character-focused writing philosophy to keep it feeling sincere. It's not gonna be "edgy," just really horrific.

Expect it some time early next year! Apologies for the slower updates these past few months, I just haven't put together much that would function as interesting previews. It's been a lot of writing, a lot of brainstorming. Gotta get back into the heat of it.

Hopefully in the next couple days I can post a mostly-unfinished edit of that Kirby short I've been talking about. It's been a bigger project to take on than I've realized, and I at least want you all to see SOME version of it. It's the least I could owe you. We'll talk about it more then.
