Something New!
Added 2024-07-08 01:04:26 +0000 UTCIt's time for a bit of a big update, one where I'd like to give Supporters the chance to gve feedback duringthe process!
For those who have been with us long enough, you might remember when we started off the comics with the Thistleland art style, still used in the Rag Tag comic pages. In time we created the Inanis setting, and along with it came an entirely new style from Timor: The Inanis art style.
In truth, the eventual idea was to go forward with a single art style at an appropriate time, somethingthat was meant to be decided on a year or so ago. Sadly a lot has happened since then, and the idea was shelved until things became a little less tricky.
And now that time has come. The plan is for the second chapters of Rag Tag and Diplomatic Claim we'll be using a unified art style, something that can be done for pages, commissions and more regardless of the setting... and for future projects also.
This new art style is to be based on the Inanis art style with some alterations, but some of the details are still being decided upon. This is where you come in! We currently have two ideas for the new art style: One with a few minor changes, and one that has some substantial changes to things such as body shape/postures.
I'll be posting some of the results of these syle tests here for all Supporters to give their thoughts on the style and preportions of existing characters using the two potential styles. I can't guarentee which style will get chosen yet, but your thoughts will certainly sway my thinking at least a little, and might even lead to refreshing the designs somewhat in ways I did not expect!
There'll be a few posts over the next few days or so, including one starter post tonight, and we'll be looking at closing in on a final style within the next month or two. It's worth noting that this style won't be used in the comics themselves until Chapter Two of Rag Tag and Diplomatic Claim, though that isn't too far in the future for both comics!
I hope it's not too much to say I've been exited about doing this (causing Timor some designing pain) for a fair while now, it's the "little" things that keep one going, eh!
