Long time no see (again)!

Oh well, seems like I haven't done such an update post in a very long time (once again) haven't I? Well, tbh I'm not really active on Patreon since not a lot of people are here so not many people would read my personal rambling I guess :)

Anyways, first of all since it's Christmas Time I wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

So, what have I been up to lately... Well recently I bough a new vServer where I'll most likely move all of my Discord Bots (such as Barnabot, Almighty Pony (PonySFM), MLVR Bot, etc.) to. I do have most of them running at home on my ESXi Server currently but I want as much uptime as possible on those so hosting them on a Server with 99.9% uptime seems to be a good idea isn't it ;)
The old vServer I had was getting extremely slow already despite me not doing much on it other than hosting those Discord Bots on there. Plus over the years it went more and more expensive for the specs it has so yeah, time to replace that one I guess! 

Another thing that's going on currently is us rebuilding my old bedroom to finally have more space there! This means I'll have 2 separate rooms once it's finished where one will be transformed into a workspace with a super long work-surface where I can finally do all kinds of projects again! (Plus I'll mount a Tripod to the ceiling in one corner for easy Livestreaming and/or video recording so expect more videos soon-ish ;) ). I already had one but due to space restrictions it's mainly misused as a bad shelf right now, heh...

Oh and here's a bit of a funny little story that happened while rebuilding the rooms! Since WiFi was getting a bit boring on my main PC in that room I also decided to run some network cabling across our house so I can finally enjoy full Gigabit Ethernet there. We starting routing cables through half the house and into the tiny server room I've built up and was fully excited to finally test if everything is working. So I crimped on some temporary connectors to the cable and... found out a few Pins are shorted, namely Pin 2 of one and Pin 5 of another cable. I started to wonder if we maybe damaged the cable somewhere while routing it through tight corners and small pipes so I borrowed a Fluke Tester from work. It revealed a fault at 3 Meters from one end which... seemed odd to say the least... We never bent it there, we never did anything "bad" to it on that end other than maybe pulling a bit to get it where it belongs.
Well long story short we had to open the floor again we just installed just to see what's going on and... I'll let the picture speak for itself ;)

Yup... My grandpa accidentally drilled into it while installing the floor. Oh well, at least we knew the fault now and I was able to replace the whole cable in a neater way after this :)
