✧ STEPS - 'Nightlife'

Step-by-step screenshots and animation of our piece for Shreddyfox.~

Also...

Here is the second, long-awaited post with a .psd file! We wanted to try a new format with more informative and detailed steps of our work. In this .psd you`ll find:

- first sketches and earlier iterations of our work on this piece;

- detailed grey-scale render process;

Unfortunately, we forgot to save our color layers before we merged them and there are no coloring steps. But! We are preparing a speedpaint video with coloring process of this artwork, so stay tuned for updates if that sounds interesting to you~

Guys, we want to make our exclusive content much better and you can help us with that <3

So please, feel free to share your feedback for this new .psd file! Do you like this format? Can you comfortably open the file or would a smaller file size work better for you? Thanks!

Hope you find it helpful!~

We will definitely make a thorough break-down of the process in the future, but the big leap happens because we photo-bash some of our backgrounds) So one moment there's nothing, and then there it is, haha)

Any chance we might get a step by step of only part 7? I mean, it's such a big leap from part 6 I'd love to see what your process is!

We prepared speedpaint video with coloring process of this artwork, so it`ll be here soon~ Grey-scale helps us establish values of the scene, without the confusion that color might bring. You don't need to be precise at this point, and can focus on making your tones look good. While applying colors later on you can adjust them to mix with grey-scale in such a way that thay correct the tone, weather it's too dark or too light

Aww shoot. Getting the gray scale into the color is the part I want to know. Actually how do you know what shade of grey to use for what color you going to use? I now have so many questions.

So... many... LAYERS 😍 This is SO cool! Easy to download, open, and navigate, and really eye opening. At first glance of the step-by-step gifs y'all make, I thought it was like a 12 or 15-step process, but damn, was I wrong. The attention to detail is incredible.
