ShipbreakerVR 0.2.0
Added 2022-06-21 15:53:01 +0000 UTCFixed a few things to make this basic version more playable. As before, press F3 to enable VR mode once in-game. In most cases, you should be able to press F3 again to disable VR mode in case something is so broken that you can't proceed in VR. But it's quite likely that some things will just remain broken even once you disable VR.
- Now showing UI in front of you, including reticles. Not perfect, still missing some UI elements, but it's a lot more playable now.
- Fixed the laser cutter going sideways, I think.
- Press F5 to enable ultra-low quality mode. It's lower than the lowest graphics settings the game usually lets you select. To go back to normal graphics, just change the graphics settings in-game.
- Press F6 to toggle all lights in the current scene. It looks sad, but it can help with performance.

2022-09-27 16:29:04 +0000 UTCYou're probably aware of this, but the latest update to the game still works with the VR Mod of yours.

2022-09-10 16:39:02 +0000 UTCnp, happy to test really enjoying this mod for some reason. What is the best way to submit bugs? Your firewatch mod is so good I can just picture what is there in this game and it would be amazing.

2022-09-10 15:58:30 +0000 UTCOh, interesting! Maybe a game update broke it. I will have to check that, thanks for the report.

2022-09-09 19:35:30 +0000 UTCI understood that, but this was without loading my headset at all (not hitting F3) - I found a workaround by doing the first portion of the game completely unmodded. Then I loaded the mod after completing the first section and everything seems to work as described.

2022-09-09 18:40:43 +0000 UTCFor now you can only enable VR mode while in-game, when you're actually floating around in space. During the menu parts and in-between missions you need to use your flat screen.

2022-09-08 16:51:36 +0000 UTCTried to make it work last night w/ Gamepass version, ran all the firewatch instructions, not sure what is going wrong but upon loading the game and selecting the mode, it plays the intro with the yellow text, fades in on a room that is slightly blurry and nothing happens. bummer.

2022-09-08 15:38:56 +0000 UTCTried it today with the Gamepass version. Runs like a charm. I would love to see more of it. Before going to motion control I would appreciate visible & working menus in vr. Every one else: try it. It is a blast :)

2022-07-25 23:37:33 +0000 UTCIt does work with Gamepass, but you might need to take some steps to make it moddable. Check my Firewatch mod readme on GitHub, I have the Gamepass steps there too.

2022-07-24 05:00:06 +0000 UTCHello! Played on i-9-10850k, NVIDIA 3090FE, Valve Index.. Runs great, whatever I do (graphic settings wise) seems FPS is capped on 60. No stutters inside. Looks and feels way better then using vorpX.

2022-07-18 20:27:53 +0000 UTCJust played through my first dismantling of a ship. The VR held up great, and getting used to the gamepad is still a bit of an effort (mostly because of wishing for motion controls), but more than manageable. Gotta look into seeing if you can port in your own music (the music is fine, but some variety would not be bad). Thanks again for your wonderful efforts on this, and I hope development will continue.

2022-07-04 14:52:52 +0000 UTCPlayed on a i7-8700,16GB RAM, GTX 1070Ti on a Valve Index (90Hz refresh, Motion Smoothing On) and Xbox One Wireless Controller. Observations are as follows: - Overall, a more smooth, pleasant experience when playing in space (inside your living quarters, moving around is still a bit of a mess (overly fast movement, looking in one direction has your camera moving in the opposite). Aside from the movement inside the living quarters, you gotta remember to switch back to flat screen to navigate the menus to get your next assignment (so swapping between flat screen and VR on a semi-frequent basis will be needed). - I'm glad to report the F3 button works great for myself for getting in and out of VR. Much smoother experience. For myself, there was usually a few seconds delay. - The gamepad experience is still pleasant, but man-oh-man, this game would benefit so much if motion controls could be incorporated. I can basically identify how I would use the motion controller for game controls. I'm certainly not going to be expecting motion controls, but this a game to where it would feel so right. Having the UI and targeting reticule on screen enhanced the VR feel of the game without making feel too crowded. Thanks for making a fun experience even better. I definitely would vote for continued development on this game.

2022-06-26 14:27:13 +0000 UTCWoaw, i've just made the first mission and the feeling of doing this in VR it's very cool, thx for this ! If you can find a way to fix the home interaction that's not showing in VR it will be perfect. Again a big thanks for your work Raicuparta.
