Fixing Flaws and Replacing Tedious Mechanics in Yandere Simulator

Hello!

I took a long hard look at Yandere Simulator, and reached the conclusion that there were a lot of flawed features and tedious mechanics.

I spent a lot of time trying to improve the game over the past month, and I've uploaded a new video about my efforts!

I also wrote a pretty lengthy blog post detailing the factors that will determine what I'll be spending my time on in the near future. It contains a lot of information that is probably relevant to patrons like you, so please check it out!

Fixing Flaws and Replacing Tedious Mechanics in Yandere Simulator

I heard the "throw voice" suggestion quite a few times, so I decided to research it. It turns out that "throwing your voice" isn't "making your voice sound like it's coming from another direction", but rather, muffling your voice to make yourself sound like you're farther away than you actually are. As far as I can tell, there is no way to *actually* make your voice sound like it's coming from another direction. (And ventriloquism is the ability to talk with your mouth closed...but it would still sound like it's coming from your direction.) I'm still open to suggestions, though!

This is probably a long shot, but in regards to making a distraction that is away from you I was thinking maybe Yandere-chan could throw her voice or in this case her laughter. I mean she has Yandere vision so it wouldn't seem impossible for her to have a ventriloquim ability. I remember the Phantom of the opera did that in the novel so I thought it would be a cool ability for Yandere-chan to have too.

I'm so glad you've chosen to go back and take sort of a bird's eye view of the demo to see what works, what doesn't, and what technically works but players ignore. That proves your commitment to making a demo worthy of crowdfunding support. It's easy to get lost in the weeds or have tunnel-vision when you're neck-deep into a project. By the way, here in the South we call them "Snappers" or "Pop Rocks". I'm afraid I don't have an answer for what to do about any now-useless Club buffs. What I can say is I've felt for years the parameter for the camera to register someone's face is way too precise and therefore difficult. Given how vital the mechanic is, maybe you'll want to look into that? Not sure how easily it can be altered though. Keep up the good work!
