GordoTEK Trip Track 1: Mystical Wonders Soundscape

Before publishing a new series of videos on  psilocybin I thought it would be a good idea to produce a high quality, carefully curated collection of sounds and music to enhance and complement longer psychedelic experiences.  At first I looked on YouTube at what has already been published along these lines - but was disappointed to find nothing that suited my tastes. There are many videos claiming to be "trip music" and "psychill" but almost all of them are synthesizer based music that gets old fast (to me anyway) or various repetitive loops (no good). Many are simply not long enough and you really shouldn't be playing DJ while tripping. 

I wanted an eclectic collection of styles (mostly instrumental) as well as nature sounds, and various tracks that invoked a sense of awe and wonder or just worked well under psychedelic states of synesthesia.  So I set off to do this, it took far longer than I thought it would, and required hundreds of sound level edits, cuts, and mixing, not to mention the countless hours spent just finding these selections.  I also made some of my own recordings (my tree frogs and birds, my kids whispering words of encouragement).  I found some pretty cool content you have never heard before too (mixed in real humpback whale songs with one track for example, haha).  I even sing in this at one point (but you probably won't notice).  It's over ten hours long.

Now in the old days, if you uploaded copyrighted music to YouTube, you would get a strike and the video would typically be removed.  I don't know if many are aware of this yet, but there has been a sea change in this regard, today, almost all copyright owners allow these uploads, and YouTube simply lets them monetize your video.  So this is both good and bad for a trip track like the one I created - the good is that it is unlikely to be taken down, the bad is that the copyright owners will likely monetize the video, which in turn means there will be commercial interruptions during your trip (which is totally unacceptable). Thankfully there are many YouTube ripping tools out there where you just enter a URL and it will save the MP3 for you (youtubemp3.rip for example).  But for all patrons, I'm supplying you with an even higher quality audio only file for direct download (just click the link at the top of this post).  Warning, this file is 1.2 GIGs in size.  It should be playable on any phone, tablet, or computer that has the room to download it.  I recommend you grab it while you can and save it for later.

Note that all of the recent, reputable scientific studies with  psilocybin  that I've been reading have been using long music tracks with study subjects, and this has worked out very well (Griffiths used a mix of classical and world music).  Also note that I realize everyone has different tastes and moods so the soundscape I've created may not be appropriate at all times or for all people, its just a start.  I plan to make more.  Hope you guys enjoy it.  Definitely let me know your feedback.  Also note that you may not understand why I put some of the things into this mix until you are tripping ;)  It has been "trip tested" ;)
