We dance to offer ourselves to God.
To pray.
To rage.
To arrive in more
Grace

Presence.
Dance is how we laugh with whole body.
Shivering, thundering, wailing erratically through ancient layers of grief.
Receiving the gift of Self beyond me.
Dance has no name, no form, no way.
It is simply the voice of the energy we embody throughout our day
Our capacity to dance has nothing to do with our flexibility, our schedules, or coordination.
It is the choice we make to feel the pulse of life force that moves us through creation.
Dance is our erotic, artistic nature.
How we rid our bodies of chosen centuries of persecution, oppression, suppression, and diminished connection…

Dance is Play.
Dance is Prayer.
Dance is Sex.
It drums like a heart that demands we Let Go, Let in, and Let Flow

I arrived at the beach one day feeling contracted, afraid of being seen, heavy with doubt.
I saw a little girl prancing wildly down the beach.
Her movements were so subtle & erratic.
Fearless.
Thoughtless.
Simple.
Feeling her, for even just a moment, lit a fire in my heart.
My blood began to pump and my breath deepened.
My gripping to survival, melted into pleasure & will to be ALIVE.
She reminded me that there is freedom I can access in my own body right now.
I no longer felt alone & trapped.
As she passed by me on the sand
My body felt the sensation of laying into a river.
Like the salt returned to the sea.
Holding each cell of my flesh as I float.
Safety and peace returned to my being.
And moments later, my cheeks flowed like waterfalls.
Tears streaming as my body remembered a new depth of connection
To dance with one another is an expression of reverence
Devotion to the remembrance of our vitality
And abundance of our Soul.
The power we have to craft a life that FEELS meaningful.
And to invite our beauty and grossness simultaneously.
Empowering us to heal our own bodies.
And give life to more love.
