Hello everyone,
We just wanted to update you guys on what has been going on behind the scenes here. We are continuing to work on improving the demo to the high standards we set for ourselves, and have made good progress. The additional part time programmer I hired to help out with the problems with the battle system has finished, and it no longer has any of the issues it did in the previous demo.
Meanwhile Jr.X has rebuilt the exploration system completely from the ground up, to resemble the original plans that I had from it. It now uses corridors constructed of random tiles, in addition to rooms. These tiles can be nothing, battles, chests, curios, or other events, allowing us create the random feel of a roguelike, and make each visit to the dungeon different. Sommy is currently working with Jr.X, creating assets for the new exploration system. He is also working on improving the UI, as you can see on the above image (that will be implemented in the finished demo).
The plan now is as follows:
Once again I'd like to thank you all for bearing with us during our staffing issues, and we all hope you'll enjoy the polished demo once we get it in your hands next month.
- Lord A.
