Friday Rambles and Game Dev Update 2024-12-13
Added 2024-12-13 17:00:12 +0000 UTCI'm traveling right now, and away from my computer, but with the magic of scheduled posting, I'm bringing my rambles straight to you early on a Friday, dear supporter.
Game Dev Stuff:
The meat and potatoes. This week was shortened due to my traveling, as mentioned last week, but hey, guess what. I buckled down, finished everything I had to, did some playtests with my trusted playtest crew on the script (to be sent to translators), finished all the localization code for the new script, and then actually sent out the script to the translators. I still have a todo list a mile long, mostly around fixing code and replacing placeholder assets (a lot of which are boring blue rectangles) with actual art. Inevitably I'll want to add or change some stuff while I make the prod art assets, but it shouldn't have too much impact on the translation work.

At least I can work on code and art assets in parallel while translation work happens. I have about 2 months to finish everything. That's right, you can hopefully expect the new chapter update in about 2 months. If all goes well. We'll know more when we get there.
As far as the new chapter itself goes, the feedback from the playtesters has been quite positive, which was a huge relief to me. I think it'll be much better received once I actually make all the cool art I've got planned. Also, it's longer than the original game. Oops.
Okay, I have to go do real life stuff, but hey, at least I had some good news to share.
