GUNBRAIN! [updat]

GUNBRAIN comic is entirely laid out / pencilled and I have commenced with INKING! I am super attempting to RIP THRU this comic like a BEAST yo.

Basically, lately, I have super embraced my "anything goes" method of art making. Especially for comics, which can be very laborious-- I'm more about just GETTING IT OUT than making it perfect. You'll see that in GUNBRAIN.

^Those Easter Island-y looking heads are a shout out to SHMUP games like GRADIUS, which always seemed to have a monolithic Easter Island-style head or two in them.

A LOT of the comic is a love letter to that era of gaming. You'll see! !! ! Here's that BIO shot again

Literally just finished that page. Vying for at least 2 pages a day on this one. ANYTHING GOES, man!!! ! ! ! ! Even if the art "looks bad"-- it still kinda doesn't lol. It's that FUN ORGANIC NATURE that even the most intricate cartooning sometimes can't achieve!

Here's a look at some of the physical inspiration for GUNBRAIN. METAL SLUG history book, SANDLAND by Akira Toriyama (one of his one-off short stories-- like GUNBRAIN!) and an EXO SQUAD exo suit from EXO SQUAD hahaha! All of them have that "Cutified Mecha" feel that I am vying to achieve in GUNBRAIN

and here's actual WORK IN PROGRESS-- got a nice standy thing so I can actually look at METAL SLUG backgrounds while I draw! So niceeeeeee

This here is a "PROJECTS" post, BTS (behind the scenes) stuff! FULL CHUNKS of GUNBRAIN (lol I love saying that) will go up for $3+ tiers as it's completed ✌
