Binkov's Newsletter, October 2019

 Hi guys!

Here are some updates, both with the future release schedule and possible upcoming changes to our Patreon rewards.

But before that, please feel free to comment on our previous video, the Chinese Military parade one. We finished it at the last moment, so there was no early access variant of that video. And the whole video was something of a departure for us, visual style wise. We were hoping to use a bit more of various video footage in some of our future videos. Feel free to comment below this post.

This week's video is going to be a platoon of US modern-day marines versus an entire legion of the Roman Empire. Also, a completely new visual style will debut for this video, so tell us what you think, once it gets released.

After that, we'll release a video dealing with a hypothetical Civil war between England and some of the other regions in the UK, as they try to separate themselves from the old country after Brexit goes through. It's a bit more of a political video in some regards and the military side of the conflict is perhaps more about the civil unrest and guerilla warfare than the outright battles in the open.

In November we'll treat you to one of the Patreon poll winners - Hypothetical nuclear war between France and the UK. Who has a bigger arsenal, who'd do more damage, etc. A nice, long video clocking in at over 15 minutes.

We'll also do a Ford class carrier versus entire WW2 Japanese navy sometime in November, but that's too far out for us to have many details.

Now onto those possible Patreon changes. Some of you may know that a lot of YouTubers have issues with demonetization. We've had those since we started our channel. They come and go, some videos get demonetized, then (almost) all of them get remonetized after we request a manual review. But with many of the other YT channels (Such as Armchair Historian, Great War and Military History Visualized, which we all love) complaining about demonetization, which impacts their (And our) earnings, the situation does seem to be getting a bit more serious.

Who knows how long will we be able to count on YT adsense as means of supporting the channel. Which leads us to Patreon, being an alternative source of support. Of course, we can't really give much more than a video to Patrons...  but imagine this: What if Patrons got to enjoy the video without any sort of advertisements? No YT ads and no sponsor's ads? We could certainly arrange that, via a different, non-YT streaming platform. So... that's an idea we're toying with.

At the same time, we might bring in some changes to the tiers as they are now. Details of those changes will be published when we make some final decision, but we might be shifting around the poll reward, reworking the newsletter, etc. We'll see.

Tell us what you think, as always.

Salutations!
