I subscribed to your Patreon just so I can watch this reaction xD As for his reason for leaving Treasure, he said it was because he wanted to be able to release more music. YG is quite infamous for not releasing music as frequently as other labels. And if you listen to his self-produced music, his genre is just so different from the kind of music Treasure is currently releasing. Also, he revealed a few months ago that during his trainee days, he actually did tell YG beforehand his desire to be a soloist, but his trainee status didn't allow him to make that choice. Him becoming a soloist now is just him returning to his main goal and his roots, as he became famous and a household name in Korea as a soloist on the singing competition Kpopstar 2 at the age of 10. I've actually been a fan of him since 2014 when he was still a trainee, and I truly feel that him debuting as a soloist is easily one of the best decisions he has ever made. He has so much creative freedom and almost complete autonomy over his music now, has already done so many collaborations with other artists, and invited to so many shows in Korea- even though he debuted as a soloist just 6 months ago. Even his vocal range seems to have improved. And even though his music is kind of underrated at the moment, he has still gone viral several times in the past few months for his covers and his performances. This Magnetic cover became viral too, especially on Tiktok. So I'm sure he'll keep growing and solidifying his new identity as a solo singer-songwriter, especially since he's releasing his R&B album soon!

2024-05-23 13:59:31 +0000 UTCI believe the reason he left is due to creative differences and also he’s still a college student. He’s an Ace student actually. So being an idol under a very big company adds more pressure and responsibility to stick to the company’s schedule and not his own. He tried so hard to do all of that and survive (as you might see if you get the chance to watch their reality shows.) Also treasure has so many producers that they each have their own style. There’s Hyunsuk, Junkyu, Yoshi, Asahi, and Haruto. We will never know. Mashiho also left the group. He never resurfaced. So seeing Yedam resurface as a soloist has healed many of his fans’ hearts.
