Requested: ATEEZ - Guerrilla EPIC Live Performance

Didn't mean to get too intense with this one haha - I get passionate about music! Dropping another video request right now to NewJeans as well. Let me know your thoughts and I'll see you in the next one!

Comments

You know how they practice their vocal? They running on treadmill while singing, or jumping up and down while singing. Because of their insane performance/ dance on each song, that how their been practices and preparing themselves.

smiles always

Loved this reaction. I went to their concert in london last Yr and this song was insane and has the most energy. However when I showed my dad the videos he thought I joined a cult hahah

I really hope you react to the whole Coachella set :) But unfortunately you can't find it on Youtube because it's always blocked. But if you really want to see the whole set, I think a lot of Atinys (Ateez fans) recorded the whole set. I'm one of them ;) If you would like to react to the entire set, someone can definitely send you the recording. I would send it to you too!

Justin, I knew the guys would get to you. You’re slow to the party but at least you came!!! Haha.😁 I will be seeing them LIVE in concert later this month! So excited!!! They are ROCKSTARS!!! I do want to say, people wrongly assume San is lip syncing because he always uses the headset mic. He’s all about his performance usually and a hand mic interferes with his dancing. 🤘🏼🤘🏼

Samantha

This is something both Skz and Ateez members have struggled with live - the headset vs hand mic and all the dancing and movement. The vocal backtrack drowns them out at times. Most of their main vocal/rap members have opted for the hand mic because it picks up more sound, however San has not and I’m guessing once you watch more of his live performance you will see why. He is a very dynamic performer. Having said that so is Mingi and he uses a hand mic. It would be great to see him come off the head set. Felix from Skz just did for the first time in 7 years this week so it can be done! Last note: the group does not have as much control of sound at these types of events vs their own concerts.

please dont kick me :D but I have something to add... :) more mainstreamy music do exist from ateez. with not so many switch ups. I am not sure if that album meets the requirements fully, but for me, the best sing-along album was the one with guerilla on it. You already reacted to Kingdom legendary war. the staged they present there... look at symphony no 9. wonderland again. there is a scene where jongho "throws" the tallest member and still holds his note. jongho to watch also him, on immortal songs 2. alone or with ateez together. that show is only live too.

Danielle

many things will only get notices after rewatching it again and concentrating on different aspects / persons. for example, jongho is singing a long climbing note and nearly nobody who reacted to this video (killing voice) noticed it. - sorry for spamming :)

Danielle

Yeah, some songs may take a second listn to "fall in love" with. BTW there was an interview with jongho (the guy with the crazy control and notes, killing voice the one on the very left). and he said, he collaps right after the first week show coming off the stage. and here is something i didnt think about. I believe very firmly - and I am mad at coachella for taking the video of week 2 down, leaving only guerilla - that this live stage was the best I had ever seen. and in an enviroment like that, playing live, with band, with choreo, in this heat and windy as hell. but jongho also said, that it was (which should be obvious but I was stupid) perticulary hard because of all the sand you inhaled while performing. now imagine that. with all those obsticals still doing that amazing show. I am floored. And here is the link, I had posted it befor with some YT shorts: https://youtube.com/shorts/YOofI7iwCL0?si=t_wH_BkVky4AZF-N BTW-2 :D the thing with breaking apples (jongho) is, that he does that, while holding the note and without using his body to break the apple (holding it in front of him instead of pressing it against is body while breaking) many parts are also believed to be background sounds and instruments but most of the time it jongho or one of the others... ;)

Danielle

Thats directly on the dingo channel. Cant miss it 😉 the video utopia from behind the scenes.

Danielle

I think you'd enjoy this - https://youtu.be/jCWlqmwZRrM?si=C_950CSsHc7Z5aq5. Just San and Jongho of ATEEZ covering one of IU's ballads.

Hi, it's nice to see you giving them a second chance. In this Video you can hear and see Songwha talking and showing how they trained as trainees to prepare for their perfomances - i think it shows that he doesn't lipsink at Coachella ( it's from minute 16 on ) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GczqPQ42Q40

They went to Mawazine Festival too in Morocco 🇲🇦 ,there is the full HD performance in many yt channels i think they did 15 songs

Haru

I'm so glad you're giving them another chance after killing voice! I predominantly listen to metal so I really enjoy Ateez's heavier more intense songs, however they have some amazing softer songs in their discography as well. I'd highly recommend the Turbulence live band version they did on the it's live channel a year ago. It's absolutely beautiful. San's and Jongho's harmonizations are just otherworldly and I think the arrangement will be right up your alley. https://youtu.be/BycpPeGWM-c?si=lyIit9Fot9QQTIr-

Wow!! Thanks for the great info on the group! You all are awesome- taking notes. :)

San usually is hard to hear while dancing when he does falsetto specially using head mic cause his voice is very soft when he does it, so I believe he tries to sing but but is not easy to stand out. But there are some parts that because of dancing is impossible to use the hand mic and ends up being the back track, but in his case usually the falsettos look like that. San has an issue many years ago, he got covid like 2 times or 3 I don't remember and after that he ended having his vocal cords bleeding and he pretty much had to adapt. His voice used to be more poweful in high register but now he can't hit the same notes like when he was in the begin of their years of debut. He practiced a lot to sing well again but his tone changed. We didn't know that, he told this to us this year, they don't usually share struggles about their practice but they are all very hard working and are always trying to do better. Hongjoong the rapper the short one singing passionally he is tone deaf and didn't sing and rap at all when he started to be trainee, he learned all from scratch. He sings well now he can even cover a few of high notes from Jongho. So in a group where the leader and main rapper used to be tone deaf and he write songs, produce, sing and rap he learned to dance too he didn't know, I mean you can imagine the amount of effort they all did to get at this point. They traine as athlets to have stamina, they have a group of professional to take care of their health, they practice singing with vocal coaches and do it in the tredmill to be able to dance and keep the breathing control. If you watch their immortal songs performances you can see them live even jumping without voice shacking. One time I saw a guy that made a video saying they do pitch correction, there are tons of videos of Ateez singing random even joking in backstage, is very very rare to see them without singing perfect but can happen, this weeked Mingi the blond tall rapper had sore throat and had a bit of hard time singing some times and he felt super bad and apologized to fans, said he will do better next time. They are very perfectionist.

ATEEZ is really insane live!! I’ve watched them live and it was just incredible and unbelievable! And they have everything in their discography. If you need a ballad, they have it. If you need a light feel good song, they have it. If you need rock, they have it. If you need insane dance tracks, they have it! I hope you explore more about ATEEZ. This is just 50% of what they’re capable of. ❤️

This literally JUST popped up on my TikTok!!! https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTNYLYp6k/

Thanks for your reaction! I honestly think you were valid in the Killing Voice video. I’m happy you got to see Guerrilla in action! I promise you they do have songs that showcase their vocal ability a lot more. I think you’d enjoy songs like Mist, Star 1117, Turbulence, fever, Take Me Home, It’s You, Youth and Jongho’s Everything (Jongho is the singer you keep slapping your face at). It may not be to your exact taste, but it does show a bit more of their vocal capability! I think you’d also enjoying watching the recording behind of their latest album. We finally got a full video of their time in the recording booth! I thought of you when watching because I’d love to get your commentary on how they’re able to change their voices depending on the song. Here is the link for this: https://youtu.be/luoLO_EJaxs?si=1RBJMAclkfP18VK0 I also found the link to that YouTube short from Dingo: https://youtube.com/shorts/YOofI7iwCL0?si=dhUtk9ob5jhLIpEX To keep the suggestions coming, if you’d like to see more about how they prepared for their Coachella stage, they recorded a documentary version of their journey for preparing for Coachella. It is INSANE to see how athletic they are and it was cool to see how to do the run through for the live band in prep for the festival: https://youtu.be/QneendaO8U8?si=E5DI6yDJBdiTVhFc

Maria

San sometimes lipsyncs in lives, always in the same parts not sure if he's out of breath or is not sure he's gonna make it. Wooyoung and Yeosang are others that can also do it. On the other hand Seongwha, Yuhno and the angel Jongho don't lip sync at all. If you want to check out how normally their lives are without band, check this one out from a Spain K-pop festival last year: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Eq9Eek3i1g&ab_channel=K-EVERKPOPLIVE%5BVOD%5D I saw it in person and was blown away.

ChukyBlairBass

For a festival obviously they sang titles tracks but if you want different songs like ballads or something you need to react to their bsides

Haru

seonghwa in a recent interview said that they train by running and jumping while singing, that's why they are the best

JonghoTiny

Hope you check out the whole coachella set at some point cus it was amazing.
