I noticed in your BABYMONSTER reactions you talk about their potential in vocals and exploring it. What not many people know about YG presently is how unique and incredibly trained their vocalists are..but again sometimes their title tracks don’t showcase them. Unless you dive deep into their discography or they go on KING OF MASKED SINGER, KILLING VOICE, OR LEE MUJIN SERVICE. For WINNER’s YOON he actually had a vocal trainer that was not a part of YGE..and former YG artists Lee Hi also trained with the same vocal trainer. Yoon also studied at a music school in Busan, so I think he was took vocal classes upon classical guitar lessons too. Which is why he’s known to be such a versatile vocalist with an insane vocal range. I hope you can react to WINNER’s Yoon on King Of Masked Singer and Begin Again. Like I said in my previous comment, he’s a story teller when he sings ugh such a gorgeous voice. 2024-08-20 18:26:44 +0000 UTCWINNER is the first YG boy band since BIGBANG. They were part of a competition called WHO IS NEXT between them and what would be iKon (minus Chanwoo). They won the competition as a group of 5 and was named WINNER. They were the first group to debut as model-idols and with 2 singles that were ballads even though YG is a hip hop label. They lost Taehyun the youngest due to creative differences after their mini album E. To this day WINNER is known to release songs that cater to a huge audience demographic. Now half the group is in the military (younger 2) and HOONY (high toned rapper) just released a solo album. All of them could sing and rap.

When you dive deep, you’ll find they’re both super versatile and the vocalist that has the blue hair..his range is insaneeee! A natural baritone, but can belt or do power notes..falsettos, and high pitch notes. There’s a reason why he became 6X King of Masked Singer. He’s a story telling kind of singer, he takes you on a journey when he sings! Chills! The other vocalist has such a pretty voice, but his lower register is so manly as well. Again the range in this group is limitless, they also experiment with music genres often too. The rappers are insanely talented, but witty and clever with writing their lyrics and rap flows. Two totally different rap styles and delivery, but goes so well with this group.

A self-made aka compose/produce their own music and occasionally choreography group with good energy, great vibes, and fun songs. Songs that just gets you in a good mood, but they also can get you in the feels. As you can tell each member has such a unique style and vocal tone, which makes their music just so interesting, but they work so well together. I really do recommend their Killing Voice! You get a little taste of their versatile discography and their vocal ranges. They’re a group that all members can sing, rap, and dance.. upon being able to compose/produce their own music. They always have fun whenever their perform, so you’re going to enjoy their Killing Voice. WINNER is a part of YG entertainment and will be celebrating their 10th anniversary, they are debut mates with Red Velvet, MAMAMOO, GOT7, and Lovelyz. They were discovered in 2013 in YG’s own produced survival show WIN: WHO IS NEXT, where he put two teams of the most debut ready male trainees against each other. The winning team gets to debut by fan votes and well that team became WINNER. At that time and even when they debuted in 2014, they have always been unique and refreshing. Vocally they were the stronger group, but gave off a more mature vibes. So they did debut with more mellow ballad/midtempo yet gorgeous songs. That was so fresh at the time and they blew up and were called MONSTER ROOKIES. But you know with YG, they went on a hiatus and unfortunately lost that hype from debut. They did not have a comeback until 2016… YES.. you read right 2016!! Ridiculous right?! Luckily they still had a solid fandom despite the hiatus, but then their 5th member was having a tough time with pressures of idol life + mental health. He eventually left the group and YGE to get proper treatment. There was a lot of uncertainty on what is going to happen with WINNER now that they are 4 members now. A lot of people said they’re going to disband or will try to replace or add a new member. But the group decided to stay as 4 members and continue as WINNER. They came back in 2017 with a new feel and aura with REALLY REALLY and FOOL, then BAM! They basically risen back into popularity! They were always so good in delivering such catchy and melodic songs + vocals + rapping + personality. They continue on with that for almost 10 years now and still are as you said WINNER. They are so well loved in SKOREA and I wished YGE just gave them even more opportunities overseas. I mean they did have a North American tour and it was successful, but they did not continue with promoting them internationally let after that. Such a shame, but they’re literally a breath of fresh air and instant serotonin. You can’t help but smile or dance along when you listen or watch WINNER. Sorry for such a long post. WINNER deserves so much love and recognition. Lee Seung Hoon aka Hoony just had his solo debut and mini album this week. They’re also on military hiatus for now, the last 2 members will be returning this December. So there will be a WINNER comeback and new music to come maybe next year. 💙💙💙💙
