Jocelyne has only rebelled in private and rarely defended Joyce against parenting she knew was tyrannical. She couldn't even stand up to John until after Joyce blew up at him. It took Joyce long enough to accept her father's goodwill, and Jocelyne hasn't done as much as Hank did to earn that grudging trust.
