It just seems…chiding? Like…man, this is part of why I can’t really get into Dorothy/Joyce shipping, even as a big polyshipper! I don’t see the chemistry! I don’t see Dotty hiding her feelings here, I see her going for the Teachable Moment! (And to be clear, teachable moments are valid and all, it doesn’t make Dotty *bad*, but holy shit, it’s the direct opposite of erotic or romantic.)

2023-12-03 08:55:05 +0000 UTCSo hopefully here is where we learn the lesson that sometimes, it’s okay to enjoy being desirable and while yes, being objectified is terrible, it’s also bad to try to take away the small joy a person gets out of being desirable by calling them out for not being upset enough about societal objectification. also we hopefully learn that if your friend is dating or friends with someone you don’t like, repeatedly putting that person down isn’t being a good friend and is in fact, the opposite. There’s protecting your friend from a toxic person but there’s also being a toxic person yourself by assuming that your experience is everybody’s experience.
