In panel 2 the camera pulls back to locate the three of them, and Jennifer has her arms crossed, which is a distancing gesture; Dorothy has both hands at her sides. In borderless panel 3, the camera has moved around to Ruth's left side as she decides to stop and tosses the mic. In panel 4 Ruth sits down on the opposite side of Dorothy from Jennifer, and her arms are on the back of the couch, creating a big personal buffer zone; Dorothy grasps her right arm in her left hand, buffering in Ruth's direction but not in Jennifer's. Sarcasm wraps up the strip in panel 5. There are two drinks in front of Dorothy in panel 2, but only one in panels 4 and 5. Since we had a recent discussion of Sal's left-handedness, we can note that Ruth holds the mic in her left hand—she has long been established as left-handed. Dorothy is also left-handed.
