He starts reciting his expected script in panel 2, but then he catches Lucy's body language—maybe she doesn't want to be in that play anymore. The arch behind Lucy in panel 6 doesn't seem to belong to any of the buildings around Read, but maybe I'm interpreting the drawing incorrectly.

It's possible she's just upset, but willing to give him a chance to improve. Walky is actively trying to be better and seems to respect her as a person finally
