I guess it hurts too much to say, "I insulted her choice of boyfriend, and they blew me off, together." It may also hurt to acknowledge that the formerly aloof Sal is happy with Danny, and then there's the fact that Sal is indifferent to Danny's looks, while Sarah is obsessed with Jacob's looks, and can't get past the looks to talk to Jacob. Visual detail: Walky's right leg is bent in panel 3, as if he's going to walk to class, but in the borderless panel 4 both legs are straight as Avoidance defeats Approach in this round.
