While I'm amused by this take, Asher proactively brought this up just a few months ago in comic time: https://www.dumbingofage.com/2019/comic/book-9-comic/04-vote-for-robin/resteasy/. It sounds like he's been feeling guilty about it for a long time if that's one of the first things he thinks to say to Walky when they meet.

My favorite color scheme in this comic is the "morning sunlight diffused through a dorm window" color scheme. It's just such a nice palette of colors.

Quick reminder that Ethan has even more of a traumatic connection to Asher than either of them (I think) realizes - let's not forget that it was Asher (under duress from Blaine, but he still did it) who pulled the fire alarm that set up the mass kidnapping, which included Ethan as one of the victims. As far as we know, none of the other characters is aware of Asher's role in that day's events (including Blaine's death).
